Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero- Roero Arneis Vezza d'Alba - Arneis - DOCG - BIO

The Roero Arneis DOCG Vezza d'Alba is made from 100% Arneis, a native grape variety of the Roero, grown on sandy soils of maritime origin in the municipality of Vezza d'Alba. The presence of fossil remains in the subsoil contributes to the wine's mineral character and balance. Harvest takes place in mid-September, with manual picking in small crates. Vinification includes gentle pressing without skin softening and slow fermentation at controlled temperatures between 16 and 17°C, to preserve aromatic finesse and purity. Aging occurs for six months in stainless steel. It is an Arneis that can develop positively over several years, gaining complexity without losing its freshness and structure.

APPEARANCE: Straw yellow with greenish reflections.

SCENT: Delicate and floral, with aromas of white flowers, acacia and chamomile, complemented by light honey and mineral nuances.

TASTE: Balanced and harmonious, with good structure and pronounced minerality. The finish is persistent, with floral and subtly fruity notes.

PRODUCTION: White wine - Roero Arneis DOCG
ALCOHOL: 13.0%
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 11-13 °C

Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

“Our estate is our family” In the heart of Roero – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – in Vezza d’Alba, Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero has been producing wines since 1950. On these ancient hills, Daniela’s parents bought Cascina Valmenera and merged the vineyards of Monteu Roero to start their wine production. Their quality wine production began in 1970 with the establishment of the winery, which today is run by Daniela and her husband Luigi. For Daniela and Luigi, winemaking in Roero means producing only monocépage wines. When tasting, each sip of Roero wine represents its unique terroir – the result of millions of years of natural evolution. This is the winemaking philosophy of Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero. Our white wines ferment in stainless steel tanks until bottling, which takes place after 5 to 6 months. Our red wines ferment with a long maceration of 30 to 40 days. After malolactic fermentation, part of the wine is raised in wood: Roero Sant’Anna ages two years in wood, Nebbiolo d’Alba ages 6 to 8 months in barriques of second passage and Barbera d’Alba comes to rest in wood for 6 months. Area: Roero is more than just vineyards and wines – the rich and biodiverse soil is a unique heritage of Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero. Daniela and Luigi produce Roero DOCG wines and Spumante on a piece of land that emerged from the sea more than 3 million years ago and still preserves the great, unique geological richness of the Roero terroir. Our wines In the Roero area we grow two of the noblest indigenous grape varieties – Nebbiolo and Arneis – with which we produce wines such as Roero and Roero Arneis, both awarded the highest DOCG classification. Since 2009, Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero has also been producing sparkling wines using the traditional method and supporting The Green Experience project, which promotes sustainable viticulture by applying natural techniques and avoiding herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
