Vinaro - Bagliesi winery

A family brewery in southwestern Sicily – Agrigento

In the early 1960s, in the heart of Sicily – a land that exudes richness, fragrances and traditions – Azienda Agricola Biologica Bagliesi was founded, a natural continuation of a family tradition. Now in its third generation, today the winery is managed in an innovative way by owner Vito Bagliesi and his family. The company covers 25 hectares in the province of Agrigento, including 20 hectares in Contrada Cammuto, in the territory of Naro, and 5 hectares in Contrada Giangaragano, in the territory of Ravanusa. The terroir is very fertile and hosts vineyards with different grape varieties. The vineyards, trained on a spallier system, are the result of a careful and strict organic farming process, with a meticulous process that runs from thinning to manual harvesting of the grapes. The goal is to convey in our wines the distinctive characteristics unique to the grape varieties of Sicily. The main grape varieties in our vineyards are: Nero d’Avola, Grillo and Catarratto (indigenous), and Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (international). The wine cellar, located in our grounds, thanks to an advanced technological system, guarantees full control over the production process during the vinification phases.
If you love authentic, warm and characterful Italian wines, don’t miss Contrada Cammuto in Naro. This special region in the province of Agrigento, in southwestern Sicily, is known for its rich history, sun-drenched vineyards and unique, mineral soils. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, calcareous and clayey soils and cooling sea breezes from the nearby coast, winemakers at Contrada Cammuto produce wines with intense aromas, ripe fruit and a nice balance of power and finesse. In this region, traditional Sicilian grape varieties come into their own, such as Nero d’Avola, Frappato and Grillo, which produce elegant red wines, fresh white varieties and special blends with distinct character. The wines from Naro are recognizable for their minerality, aromatic complexity and the warm, sun-ripened notes of the island. Whether you are looking for full-bodied, robust reds, aromatic whites or small artisanal gems – at Contrada Cammuto you will discover wines with a unique identity, reflecting the essence of the Sicilian terroir in every bottle. Discover our range of wines from Contrada Cammuto, Naro, and taste the pure power and authenticity of southern Italy. From an elegant Nero d’Avola to a fresh Grillo – with us you will find the perfect wine for every occasion.
