Bergmannhof – Karl – Lagrein Riserva – DOC – BIO<\/h1>\r\nThe Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva Karl 2023 is made from 100% Lagrein, a native grape variety emblematic of Alto Adige, grown in the vineyards of Bergmannhof in Sankt Pauls\/Appiano. The vines grow on gravelly, clay and limestone soils, with a significant presence of stones that provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s concentration and depth. \r\n

\r\nThe vineyards are managed according to the Guyot system and the vines, with an average age of about 20 years, produce a yield of about 65 hl per hectare. Harvesting is done manually between late September and early October, when the grapes have reached their optimum ripeness. \r\n

\r\nVinification is via spontaneous fermentation in an open wood barrel, followed by a long aging of about 18 months in tonneaux on the fine lie. The wine is bottled without clarification or filtration at the end of May 2025 to preserve its authenticity and character. This is followed by further bottle aging of at least 6 months, which provides additional harmony and complexity.

\r\nAPPEARANCE: Deep ruby red with violet reflections.

\r\nSCENT: Intense and complex bouquet with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and ripe forest fruits, complemented by elegant spicy notes and subtle hints of cocoa.

\r\nTASTE: Full and powerful, with velvety tannins and a nice structure. The wine shows depth and balance, supported by a fresh tension that leads to a long and persistent finish.
