Ripanero - sanZavino - Aglianico - DOC - BIO

Produced in Basilicata, in the Vulture area, this wine is made from Aglianico grapes, with the Aglianico del Vulture DOC designation. The grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and vinified with the aim of best expressing the characteristics of the vintage and terroir. Vinification is followed by long aging in stainless steel tanks, with an aging period of more than 18 months, aimed at preserving grape expression and a balanced, slow development of the wine.

APPEARANCE: Intense ruby red.

SCENT: Deep and layered, with notes of tamarind, ripe morel and black pepper.

TASTE: Powerful and structured, with a tight and well-defined tannic structure; the finish is persistent and balanced.

PRODUCTION: red wine
ALCOHOL: 13%
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18 °C

Note: This wine has not been filtered and may contain natural sediment at the bottom. This does not affect the quality of the wine.

The Società Agricola Ripanero

With respect for nature and terroir: The Società Agricola Ripanero is an artisan winery founded in 2014 in Rionero in Vulture (Potenza), in the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture DOC production area. Originating from the initiative of three friends – Maurizio Placido, Mario Di Nitto and Davide Zucale – the company combines respect for tradition with organic viticulture, with a focus on limited productions of high quality.

The Production

At Ripanero we grow 6 hectares of vineyard, 11 hectares of olive grove and 5 hectares of cereals, with an approach that respects nature and traditions. The heart of our production is the Aglianico del Vulture, a grape variety that, in the volcanic soil of Monte Vulture and thanks to the strong temperature variations, finds the ideal conditions to fully express its power and elegance.

Mario Di Nitto

Our choice is clear: no pesticides, no synthetic chemistry, no GMOs. We use only sulfur, copper and natural plant enhancers, with organic fertilizer once a year. Harvesting is done by hand, in crates, so that each bunch arrives intact at the winery. In the wine cellar we follow the same philosophy: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no microfiltration or clarification, slow aging in steel, amphora or wood, and only minimal addition of sulfites. This creates authentic wines that tell our land without masks, with limited productions of 2,600 to 5,000 bottles per label.

The Wines

Aglianico del Vulture: identity, terroir and passion The main labels are Physis, Lògos and SanZavino, all Aglianico del Vulture DOC sourced from separate cru’s. In addition, there are Chronos (Malvasia Bianca IGT Basilicata) and RIF, naturally refermented. Annual production is about 12,000 bottles, with vinification in steel, amphora or Slavonian oak barrels, to respect the identity of each vineyard.
If you love authentic, powerful and characterful Italian wines, Basilicata is definitely not to be missed. This rugged and unspoiled wine region in the deep south of Italy – between Campania and Puglia – is known for its volcanic soils, ancient wine culture and unique, intense flavors. Thanks to the mountainous landscape, fresh climate at altitude and mineral, volcanic soil, winemakers in Basilicata produce wines of unprecedented depth, structure and elegance. The absolute star of the region is the Aglianico del Vulture, a noble red wine considered one of Italy’s greatest grape varieties. With aromas of dark cherries, plums, tobacco and a refined minerality, it offers a powerful but perfectly balanced taste experience. In addition to Aglianico, Basilicata is also home to surprising indigenous varieties such as Malvasia Bianca di Basilicata and Greco, which provide fresh, aromatic white wines with lively acidity. Whether you like robust red wines, refined white varieties or characterful wines with a volcanic expression – in Basilicata you will discover real gems with a unique identity. Discover our range of Basilicata wines and taste the pure soul of southern Italy. From a majestic Aglianico del Vulture to an elegant Malvasia Bianca – with us you will find the perfect wine for every occasion.
