Masseria Torricella - Minù - Minutolo - IGP - BIO

The Puglia IGP Minutolo "Minus" 2024 is made from 100% Minutolo, a native grape variety, and is interpreted as an orange wine (white wine with skin contact). The long maceration on the skins gives the wine more structure, depth and a distinct character. The vineyards are located about 400 meters above sea level, with a southern exposure, on calcareous and clay-rich soils that contribute structure and minerality. The vineyards are organically managed and managed according to the Guyot system, with a planting density of about 5,000 vines per hectare. The vines, planted in 2000, yield about 90 q.li per hectare. Harvesting takes place around mid-September, with careful selection of grapes for maceration. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature-controlled fermentation between 14 and 16°C. The skin aging lasts approximately 30 days, with regular bâtonnage to enhance structure and complexity, while carefully avoiding oxidation. The wine then ages for 6 months in inox and a minimum of 6 months in bottle, providing balance and refinement.

APPEARANCE: Deep golden yellow with amber reflections.

SCENT: Layered and expressive, with aromas of ripe apricot, honey and orange peel, complemented by balsamic and slightly exotic notes.

PRODUCTION: Orange wine - Puglia IGP Minutolo
ALCOHOL: 14%

Excellent wines and hospitality to share our tradition

Since 1946 we have been the guardians and ambassadors of this beautiful part of Puglia. Here we produce wines with a distinct character, revealing the aromas and flavors typical of a region with a strong identity. Our work, made up of passion, dedication and daily joy, is based on sincerity towards consumers, excellence in quality, research and promotion of the area.

Our story-since 1946: An artisan winery must respect nature and the time it takes to develop it, call upon the best employees in the vineyard and in the cellar, value the consumer and always be at the forefront. This is the story of Cantina Masseria Torricella.

Since 1946: The valley called “Canale di Pirro” has long been known for its particularly fertile soils suitable for viticulture. After World War II, it was divided by large estates into small plots that were distributed to local farmers with a thirty-year management agreement. One of these farmers was Francesco Consoli. And so our journey began.

Since 1981: Since childhood, brothers Peppe, Francesco and Massimo spent their Sunday mornings in their grandfather Francesco’s vineyard. Wine was always present in the home of the Consoli family and was produced by them with enthusiasm in an artisanal way.

Since 1998: After graduating in economics and business administration, Peppe caused a bit of a stir in the family. He and his wife Eva, both tax and financial advisors, preferred to work as viticulturists and winemakers rather than doctors. When the passion for the land and his entrepreneurial spirit, inherited from his father Vito, came together, the right conditions were created to bring about a great project. Consequently, in the late 1990s the family acquired other plots of land in the Canale di Pirro, which would soon be planted with vines. In the vineyard, Peppe immediately put his grandfather’s lessons into practice. He was also immediately supported by his father and his two brothers Francesco and Massimo.

Since 2003: The vineyards were beginning to bear fruit and Peppe knew exactly what his future as a winemaker would be. He partnered with a local winery that offered him support and equipment to make wine from the grapes as the vines became more and more ready to produce important wines over the years.

Since 2005: Apulia, through tourism, was getting ready to become one of the most popular destinations in the world. Thanks to the unfailing instinct that characterizes them, the Consoli family understood the importance of the moment and renovated the old Masseria Torricella. Here they created a charming agriturismo, which today is among the most popular in the region.

Since 2023 to present: Today Cantina Masseria Torricella is a renowned wine company that expresses the essence of its land in authentic and characterful organic wines, produced with the care and passion of an artisan, supported by state-of-the-art technology.

We produce high quality products that reflect Grandfather Francesco’s valuable lessons, as well as his infinite love for this beautiful region of Puglia.
Those who appreciate characterful and full-bodied Italian wines cannot overlook Puglia. This beautiful wine region in the deep south of Italy – the heel of the boot – is renowned for its sun-drenched vineyards, ancient wine tradition, and pure, expressive flavors. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, constant sea breeze, and fertile red soil, winemakers in Puglia produce wines bursting with ripe fruit, spiciness, and warmth. The most renowned grape from the region is undoubtedly Primitivo, a powerful red wine with notes of sun-ripened berries, figs, and spices. Additionally, Puglia shines with other indigenous varieties such as Negroamaro and Nero di Troia, which yield full-bodied, round wines with a velvety finish. However, lovers of crisp white wines or fruity rosés will also find their favorites in Puglia – perfect for a summer meal or a convivial gathering. Discover our selection of Puglia wines and let yourself be tempted by the flavors of Italy. From a full-bodied Primitivo di Manduria to an elegant Negroamaro rosé – you will find the perfect wine for every occasion with us.
