Cantina Mezzanotte - Verdemare - Verdicchio Superiore - DOC - BIO
Verdemare 2023 is made from 100% Verdicchio, a native grape variety of the Marche region, from a single vineyard in the Classico zone of Serra de' Conti, historically the most suitable area for this variety. The vines, with an average age of about 40 years, are managed according to the double Guyot system on sandy soils with clay influences, located 250 meters above sea level with southwest exposure. Harvesting is manual and staggered from early to late September, with limited yields of 80-90 quintals per hectare. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The wine then matures for about two years in vitrified concrete vats and then at least six months in bottle, adding extra complexity and structure.APPEARANCE: Golden yellow with greenish reflections.
SCENT: Mineral and spicy notes, with aromas of white flowers, refined and elegant.
TASTE: Fresh and balanced, with a slight almond note on the finish. Long persistence and pronounced saltiness associated with the sandy soil.
PRODUCTION: White wine - Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC
ALCOHOL: 13.0%
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10-12 °C
A family-run winery in Marche – Ancona
Expression of terroir: Our mission is to produce wines that reflect the unique character of our grape varieties and of the Marche region, using healthy and sustainable agricultural practices. This is why we pride ourselves on working with indigenous varieties such as Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba. The sandy and clayey soils typical of the area, combined with the region’s climate, enhance their qualities and result in wines with a distinctive aromatic profile. Tradition and innovation: Since 1925, the Mezzanotte family has worked the land in the hinterland of Senigallia with passion and respect, upholding the winemaking traditions of the region. However, creating exceptional wines also requires mastery of innovation. Therefore, in our winery we integrate the latest agronomic techniques to practice healthy precision agriculture that respects both the environment and people. In addition to cultivating our historic grape varieties, we continue to explore new varieties and innovative production methods.
