Pozzobon - 58 ROSSO VENETO - Cabernet Cortis - IGT
The 58 Rosso 2022 - Rosso Veneto IGT is made from 100% Cabernet Cortis, a PIWI grape variety (fungus-resistant variety) that allows more sustainable viticulture thanks to its natural resistance to the main fungal diseases. This allows treatments in the vineyard to be significantly reduced, with a lower impact on the environment. The grapes are grown in Volpago del Montello (TV), about 100 meters above sea level, on alluvial, gravelly soils with a shallow subsoil rich in minerals and organic matter. The vineyards are managed according to the Sylvoz system, with yields of about 12,000 kg of grapes per hectare. Harvesting is done manually in the first decade of September. Vinification includes bruising and fermentation in stainless steel with a 15-20 day skin soak at controlled temperatures between 22 and 24 °C. Aging takes place in 17-hl oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months, followed by six months of bottle aging before commercial release.APPEARANCE: Intense ruby red.
SCENT: Aromas of ripe red fruits with subtle spicy nuances.
TASTE: Structured and full-bodied, with good concentration and nicely integrated tannins. Balanced and persistent finish.
PRODUCTION: Red wine - Rosso Veneto IGT
ALCOHOL: 14%
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C
POZZOBON
Commendator Pozzobon Rosalio The Pozzobon farm and winery originated around 1700 as a settlement of farmers directly dependent on the noble Caotorta family on the Paolini estate in the countryside of Volpago del Montello, in the Belvedere area. This company has always grown vines to supply wine to the same noble family. In 1969, Countess Matilde Ponti, heiress of the noble Antifone Caotorta family, sold a significant portion of the Paolini estate to the current commendator Pozzobon, who has been producing and selling his own wines ever since. To protect consumer health and preserve the environment, integrated crop protection is applied, with technical guidance from Cecat in Castelfranco Veneto.
