Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero- Roero Arneis Sru Riserva - Arneis - DOCG - BIO

The Roero Arneis DOCG Sru Riserva 2023 is made from 100% Arneis, a native grape variety of the Roero, sourced from a single vineyard in the municipality of Canale d'Alba. In this particular plot, where the soil contains a greater clay component than the typical sandy soils of the region, Arneis develops more depth, structure and a distinct vertical style. The eastern exposure at about 300 meters above sea level and the average age of 25 years of the vines contribute to concentration and balance. Harvesting takes place in mid-September and is done entirely by hand. After destemming, there is a 24-hour cold peeling followed by gentle pressing and slow fermentation at controlled temperature to maintain aromatic precision and tension. Aging in stainless steel for about 12 months, with regular bâtonnage, gives the wine additional structure and complexity. The Riserva is not released to the market until about 24 months after harvest, allowing it to reach its full harmony. It is an Arneis with more depth and storage potential, refining and gaining complexity over time.

APPEARANCE: Intense and bright straw yellow.

SCENT: Elegant and layered, with aromas of white flowers, ripe citrus and pale yellow fruit. With ripening, balsamic and mineral nuances develop.

TASTE: Structured and vertical, with a powerful attack and broad development on the palate. The minerality supports a long, precise and persistent finish.

PRODUCTION: White wine - Roero Arneis DOCG Riserva
ALCOHOL: 13.0%
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 11-13 °C

Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

“Our estate is our family” In the heart of Roero – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – in Vezza d’Alba, Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero has been producing wines since 1950. On these ancient hills, Daniela’s parents bought Cascina Valmenera and merged the vineyards of Monteu Roero to start their wine production. Their quality wine production began in 1970 with the establishment of the winery, which today is run by Daniela and her husband Luigi. For Daniela and Luigi, winemaking in Roero means producing only monocépage wines. When tasting, each sip of Roero wine represents its unique terroir – the result of millions of years of natural evolution. This is the winemaking philosophy of Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero. Our white wines ferment in stainless steel tanks until bottling, which takes place after 5 to 6 months. Our red wines ferment with a long maceration of 30 to 40 days. After malolactic fermentation, part of the wine is raised in wood: Roero Sant’Anna ages two years in wood, Nebbiolo d’Alba ages 6 to 8 months in barriques of second passage and Barbera d’Alba comes to rest in wood for 6 months. Area: Roero is more than just vineyards and wines – the rich and biodiverse soil is a unique heritage of Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero. Daniela and Luigi produce Roero DOCG wines and Spumante on a piece of land that emerged from the sea more than 3 million years ago and still preserves the great, unique geological richness of the Roero terroir. Our wines In the Roero area we grow two of the noblest indigenous grape varieties – Nebbiolo and Arneis – with which we produce wines such as Roero and Roero Arneis, both awarded the highest DOCG classification. Since 2009, Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero has also been producing sparkling wines using the traditional method and supporting The Green Experience project, which promotes sustainable viticulture by applying natural techniques and avoiding herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
